When positioned in the corner of a field, a tower stand can take advantage of the natural movement patterns of deer and other game animals that are often seen traveling along the edges of fields.

Using a tower stand in a dense forest area may not be as effective due to obstructed views and limited opportunities for game spotting. Similarly, while they can be beneficial on steep slopes for visibility, the primarily flat terrain of fields often yields better results. When hunting during low-light conditions, the effectiveness of a tower stand isn’t necessarily dependent on its height; rather, good visibility and clear shooting lanes become more crucial, which is more achievable in open fields.
